Pitch: Forced to leave their country, Dounia and her grandparents set off in search of a new home. As she travels around the world in search of asylum, Dounia encounters many people and lives many great adventures. And when she encounters an obstacle that seems insurmountable, the wisdom of the ancient world comes to her rescue in the form of the nigella seeds of her grandmother.

Season 2

The Great White North

Format: 7 x 7′ or 50′ Special TV
Pitch: In this second season of the series, Dounia and her grandparents slowly get to know Canada, the new country that welcomed them: its seasons, its food, its languages. Three cultures get to know each other: Dounia’s Syrian culture, Rosalie’s Quebecer culture and Miguizou’s indigenous culture. Dounia must also live with the trauma of war and the absence of her father. He finally gets out of prison in Aleppo and goes looking for his daughter. Thanks to Kukum, Miguizou’s grandmother, Dounia learns to call her father with all of her heart, which will ultimately lead to him finding his daughter.
